NOVEMBER 1st-30th
A donor has pledged $50 per participant and $.01 per 10 meters or reps to be split between several non-profits.
Move your body! It can be any form of exercise that you can track as either meters or reps
Log at least 5 (because stomach cancer is the 5th most common cancer) days of meters or reps. Please log your meters/reps ONCE A WEEK, at the end of each week.
Post something on some type of social channel to help spread awareness (stories are great too)!
HOW TO JOIN:
About Me
I'm guessing most of you already know me and that's why you're here but if you don't- Hi, I'm Emily! I am a 35 year old new mom, small business owner, 2018 Olympian, and in July 2024 I was diagnosed with advanced stomach cancer. Being the competitive athlete that I am, I of course thought what better way to raise awareness for stomach cancer than a fun athletic challenge. Thanks for being here!
The Non-Profits
These are the non-profits we are planning to donate the proceeds to. I am always open to suggestions and depending on how much we raise, we could add to this list.
FAQs
What activities count?
Anything you can keep track of in meters or reps! If it's something you normally count as miles, you can just multiply by 1609.34 to convert to meters.
Do stroller occupants count?
You know it, that sh*t is hard! Simply log your meters twice, once for yourself and once for your occupant.
How often do I log meters/reps?
At the end of each week! Use the "LOG" button above under step two to access the google form each week. Please track your own meter/reps and log them ONCE a week.
How can I log something that is normally kept track of in time (ie yoga, pilates, barre, etc)?
Multiply minutes times 10! SO if you did 60 minutes of yoga you would log it as 600.
Can I count meters of elevation gain?
You can choose to count either meters of elevation gain or meters of distance but not both.

EXERCISE is one of the best ways to reduce your risk of cancer. It also has been shown to improve cancer outcomes. Studies have shown better outcomes with exercise and chemotherapy compared to chemotherapy alone.
EARLY DETECTION has a huge effect on cancer outcomes and it is rare for stomach cancer in the US. Most cases of stomach cancer in the US are found only in later stages. If you are having upper GI symptoms, advocate for yourself, push for answers, and get a second opinion.
